Dharma Talks MP3 – Is it a Sony Ericsson? An LG? No it’s the Nokia X6

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Abandoning its curvaceous ergonomics which used to claim nothing sharp-edged for the human hands, Finish mobile phone leader Nokia surprised many at the Nokia World conference in Stuttgart with a sharp cornered design that from a distance could be mistaken for one of those new Xperias or Chocolates. It’s the new Nokia X6 heralding Nokia’s new line of X series smartphones.

Nokia must have taken a cue from the upcoming stylish smartphones from Japan and Korea to excite the crowd with a full touchscreen handset that is sure to turn heads and give some real threat to its Asian competitors.

High End Smartphone Features and Price

Nokia officially launched the X series at its World Conference event with an expected market release before the year ends. The estimated SIM-free retail price is €460 before taxes and subsidies. We’re pretty sure UK carriers are now scrambling to get their hands on it as it promises to bring a new dimension in multimedia experience for Nokia fans bored with the signature Nokia designs of late.

 • Sporting a slim body that’s just 14mm thin, the X6 comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive 16:9 WVGA touchscreen with the usual 16 million colors and accelerometer we’ve come to expect from an upscale touchscreen. Nokia boasts that you could fit in 20 shortcut icons on its homescreen you can easily personalize, allowing single touch access to all your favorite media rich files as well as your social network sites like Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and Yahoo IM, among others.
 • Imaging features won’t disappoint avid snappers with a 5 megapixel autofocus camera using the Carl Zeiss optics we find in upscale Nokia camera phones. It has dual LED flash and geo tagging. It has video editing app bundled and you can connect the handset to a monitor with its TV-out jack.
 • Music playback is superbly anchored on a high quality player with stereo Fm radio, Bluetooth A2Dp for wireless stereo earphones and a 3.5 mm headphone jack to give you more choices in using your preferred headset. The X6 is a “Comes With Music” handset that allows direct unlimited access to online >Dharma Talks MP3 files from the Nokia Music Store. You get up to 35 hours of music playback on a single charge, more than enough to keep you entertained on long trips.
 • The Nokia X6 has A-GPS that comes with digital compass and Nokia/Ovi Maps to get you guided on your way to your destination safely with its turn-by-turn voiced navigation.
 • You get full internet browsing with Flash Lite 3.0 goes high speed with its 3G/HSDPA/HSUPA data connectivity support. Hotspot browsing is also supported with WiFi/WLAN wireless access support. Email messaging is a breeze as the X6 can combine multiple accounts into just one email inbox. You get support for POP3/IMAP email clients like Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, G-mail, as well as a lifetime license to use Nokia messaging services that includes Nokia Email and IM.

You get a more than generous 32 GB of internal memory to store all your media-rich files to last a week on the road. No need for microSD cards.

What Every Golfer Needs to Know – jason youmans booksurge

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

People from every walk of life enjoy golfing, it is a game that can be learned as soon as you can hold a club and can be played until you can no longer hold a club. It is a way to socialize, it is a motivator, and it is a great fitness related sport. This is a sport that can be played easily by one’s self or if you want you can join a group or even a league. Many golfers join leagues so they can enjoy the company with fellow golfers and a little friendly competition. However there are some tips to know before you every venture out on a golf course.
r
rThe first thing every golfer should buy is a rule jason youmans booksurge. Golf is a peculiar game as it has rules that make absolutely no sense at times and there are also rules that you will never know they exist until you get into trouble. For example if you hit the ball into a water hazard where do you take relief? That depends on which type of water hazard you hit into, is it a lateral hazard? Then you have different options and you need to know what your options are. Don’t rely on other golfers to know the rules most people only think they know the rules but when in doubt play two balls and ask your golf pro after the round and before you post your score.
r
rNext, learn golf etiquette. There is nothing worse than a golfer out on the course that has no concept about golf etiquette. For example, you always let faster golfers play through if you are more than one hole behind the next group. This means that you are taking too much time per hole which is fine as long as you don’t hold up other golfers. Also learn where to stand or park the cart while other players take their shots. Getting into a golfer’s line of sight is not only annoying it can be dangerous if someone hits an errant shot.
r
rAnother thing you should learn is a bit of self control. No one likes a golfer that has tantrums out on the course, you will quickly be ostracized and unwelcome in a league and your phone will quit ringing for the Saturday morning foursome. Every golfer hits bad shots and we all get robbed of good shots out on the course, it is just part of the game. A brief word of dismay is fine however throwing clubs and cursing and whining for the next four holes is unacceptable.
r
rThe biggest and best golf tip you will ever get is to learn to the love the game for what it is. A way to get out into the fresh air get some exercise and socialize with other like-minded people. Most of us will never have the chance to play within the ropes so strive to learn your own capabilities and work to improve your own swing and understanding of the game. This will ensure that you learn to truly enjoy the game.

Tips for hiring the perfect wedding Marquis

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Hiring a Marquee is not something that you tend to do very often. So here are some simple tips to help you get the best from your marquee supplier and make your special event a resounding success!
r
rLeave yourself plenty of time
r
rMany people make the mistake of leaving too little time to plan an event. Leaving things until the last minute is a prime reason why events can become stressful for many people and stress is one of the last things you need to be worrying about. Be sure to book your marquee and other hire equipment well in advance of your event, especially if your event is planned during the summer as popular suppliers can be booked out anything from a year in advance. Many marquee companies may offer discounts for weddings outside the peak summer months.
r
rAsk for Advice and Ideas
r
rA quality marquee supplier will be able to provide you with ideas and suggestions when planning your event and will also have numerous contacts in related services to pass across to you. You may be looking for an unusual location or wish to theme your marquee, find caterers or florists. However unusual the request you have nothing to lose by asking.
rIf you have a friend who is a flower arranger then why not ask if they can help you out for a small fee. You never know if you don’t ask! Some people like to do things for free for big events as it advertises their work and business free of charge.
r
rKnow your budget
r
rIf you are on a tight budget, keeping the number of guests down is the simplest way to make the biggest savings on the marquee, furniture and catering costs. Friends can always be invited for the evening drinks & buffet later in the day, when some of the close family will often be leaving.
r
rWhy not have a look online and try and get some ideas for the internal decoration so you can think about decorating the marquee yourself. This is a good place to save money as a marquee can be decorated nicely yourself for little expense. (A beautiful tent and lining will need less dressing up and expense to create an impact)
rIndependently sourcing furniture and generators locally will keep delivery costs down and give you a bit of extra cash to spend elsewhere.
r
rGetting the Location Right
r
rChoosing the location of your event is very important. It is always good to think outside the box with your marquee hire as you can erect a marquee wherever you wish. The flexibility of a marquee means that you are not restricted to buildings and hire halls and so use this to your advantage and get creative. Many customers contact local farmers or speak to neighbours and ask them about hiring their land so why not take a drive and see where the best spots are.
r
rAlways check for additional costs
r
rA good supplier will always provide details of transport and insurance costs from the out-set (if it applies). However, on many occasions some specifications will not be covered in the standard pricing. These costs are not always able to be assessed at the first quotation and when you are just looking for ideas. If you are happy with what the marquee company have suggested and would like to talk things through face to face, booking in a site visit is a good idea (even if you just have a totally flat lawn care service) Common issues that may affect the pricing are, if the ground is slightly uneven and requires scaffold flooring to level it out, there are objects obstructing the area (rockery, trees, steps) or the marquee is to be erected is on patio or other hard standing.
r
rHave you also thought about…..
r
rGuest – Guest numbers will determine the size of the marquee you will need. You can usually assume that approximately 15% of your invites will be unable to attend
r
rHeating – There is nothing worse than a cold marquee and unhappy guests. Even in the summer, evenings can get cold and you may need some provision to heat the tent in to the early hours. If you are lucky enough to have some really hot weather then you may wish to consider a fan to keep the air circulating and your guests cool. Alternatively many tents are designed to have the walls removed and the sides open.
r
rParking – Is there adequate parking for your guests? do you need to provide a walkway from the car park to the marquee? Does the car park need lighting?

Subsequent Models of Rolex Cosmograph “Daytona” watches – Joe Rocket Leathers

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Over the years, Rolex came out with the following new Daytona models, each showing some technological improvements over the previous models in some way or another:

Model 6262 & 6264: In 1965, model 6262 replaced the model 6239, while the model 6464 replaced the model 6241. These models were an improvement over the earlier versions as they utilized a new Valjoux 727 movement.

Model 6240: It was a completely new model, also launched in 1965. Its unique feature was its screw down waterproof pushers making it waterproof to a level of 165 feet. It was also the first Rolex Daytona watches that had “Oyster” engraved on its dial.

Model 6263 & 6265: Introduced in 1971, model 6263 was an improved version of Model 6262, while model 6265 improved upon model 6264. These improved versions featured the new screw-down waterproof pushers. They were also the first Daytona models to use a new larger Triplock winding crown.

Model 16520/16523/16528: These models include the new Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, launched in 1988. While the tachymeter scale present in these models calibrated to the usual 200 units per hour, it was soon thereafter upgraded to 400 units per hour (as can be found in all current Daytona models). The only difference between these models was that while model 16520 was available in stainless steel, model 16523 was available in a combination of stainless steel and 18k yellow gold (two-tone) and model 16528 was available in 18k yellow gold only. These models were powered by caliber 4030 Zenith El Primero movement, which gave them an edge over previous models in terms of performance.

Model 16518: Rolex launched a new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watches model in 1992, which was made available only in 18k yellow gold. It also featured a Joe Rocket Leathers strap and safety deployment clasp. It was different from the earlier models due to its bezel, which sported small triangles in place of small dots pointing to the individual calibrated numbers.

Model 16519: Introduced in 1997, it was similar to model 16518, the only difference being that it was made of white gold.

Oklahoma County District Court – For long-term disability premium and lump sum

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

For the uninitiated, Mr. Coombs and Constitution have been litigating entitlement to weekly income benefits arising from a motorcycle accident in June, 1974, since 1976. The amount in dispute is a weekly benefit in the amount of $70. I won’t continue with the history of the litigation but will instead move on to the substantive question behind whether this case is "dead or alive".
Does a declaration of entitlement to weekly or periodic benefit payments bring the matter to a close? Coombs has answered this with a resounding no.

In litigation arising out of Long Term Disability contracts ("LTD") or Statutory Accident Benefits disputes in automobile accidents, Oklahoma County District Courts have declined to order or award a lump sum amount in lieu of the declaration of ongoing entitlement (with a discount for present value calculations of future entitlements, reduced by relevant contingencies, such as prospects for future employment, life expectancy, and other factors). The Oklahoma County District Courts have just not seen fit to cross the line into the murky area of substituting their judgment, for the ongoing scrutiny of Los Angeles car insurance in Colorado in Washington companies. The basis for denying the lump sum award appears to be the constraints of the LTD contract, or legislation providing for disability and other benefits. Payments are only due for so long as the claimant can establish varying degrees of disability, although most of the litigation focuses on permanent, total or partial disability.

Recent case law indicates that Coombs is very still very much alive.1 The cases noted here all have upheld the concept that only declaratory relief is available with respect to future disability benefit payments. In Richardson v. Great-West Life,2 Justice Holmes stated the following at paragraph 29:
Counsel for the plaintiff argued that the plaintiff should be entitled to terminate the L.T. contract of Los Angeles car insurance in Colorado in Washington and receive as damages the present day value of the plaintiff’s future benefits to age 65. I agree with representations made on behalf of the defendant, however, that where as here there is some uncertainty as to the permanence of the plaintiff’s disabilities and the policy allows the insurer to require the plaintiff to submit to ongoing physical examinations as well as for offsets with regard to receipt of other benefits, a lump sum award for future benefits would not be appropriate.

Nevertheless, the plaintiff is entitled to a declaration directing the defendant to pay the plaintiff continuing monthly benefits after April 15, 1996, until such time as she reaches the age of 65 years or dies or is no longer totally disabled within the provisions of the L.T. policy.

While damages in lieu of a declaration may not always be preferable, the possibility of such an award would certainly add a strong weapon to the plaintiff’s arsenal. On the basis of the Richardson case, the Oklahoma County District Court has opened a very small window of opportunity in cases where there is certainty as to the permanence of the plaintiff’s disability. Tendering evidence with this type of standard may prove to be fruitless in the realm of establishing entitlement to a lump sum award, but it seems to be all that we’ve got, or is it?

Some of these same recent cases may assist in putting forth more forceful arguments for a lump sum award in the future. Where the plaintiff has had their benefits terminated and has suffered significant mental stress, financial uncertainty and general hopelessness, an argument can be advanced that what is needed is an end to the relationship between plaintiff and defendant insurer.
In the Coombes decision rendered in 1993, 3 the problem of the potential for litigation in perpetuity, was acknowledged at paragraph.

Coombe and Constitution have been battling in Oklahoma County District Court over the payments since 1976 and it appears to me that only the demise of Coombe will bring litigation between these two protagonists to an end.
Disability insurers, including accident benefit automobile insurers, have the right to require ongoing proof of d

Joe Rocket Jackets – A Hell of A Night

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

“What’s more awkward then strangers sitting at a train station waiting for the train at such a late hour as this? Just you and I, sitting here trying not to look like we are paying attention to the other. Seems silly when you stop to think about it. Well, my name is Pan. Pleasure to meet you. Now we are strangers no more. Its two-o-five now and our ride comes at two-forty. Train isn’t due for another thirty-five minutes… How about a walk? We won’t go far. It will be good for you. We can stretch our legs and clear our minds. Come, we walk. Not a fast pace, just casual walking speed. It is dark. Not scary dark, just without light. The terrain is pretty much without any distinguishable features. That is… what terrain we can see. I brought something with us… for the walk. It will make it much more interesting. It is in my satchel. Here, I will show you it. Look here, yes… it is a mask made from wood. It is a very old piece of wood that the mask was carved from. Much older then you may guess it to be. Do you want to hold it? There you go. Feel how light it feels. Kind of like harden air, if air could be made hard. Yes, very smooth as well. It is meant to be worn while the possessor is walking. It is magical. Yep, call it nonsense if you like but it’s true. How so you might ask? Well, I don’t mind telling you at all. I was hoping you would be curious to know. When the mask is worn over your face, and you are walking, it will give you glimpses through many kinds of eyes. Sounds intriguing doesn’t it? It is a most delightful thing to experience… most of the time. I must worn you though, sometimes you see through the eyes of something… less then delightful. If that puts you off a little and you don’t want to try the mask on, I understand totally. I can just slip it back in my satchel and we can continue our walk without it. What’s that? You want to give it a try anyway? Well then, try it you shall. It is simple, just hold it over your face so it touches your skin and keep walking. When your ready, no need to rush. Ah, it is a beautiful night for a walk with newly found acquaintances.”

Dark wood stained darker yet with some bitter smelling stain. Odd it should still be detectable if this mask is as old as indicated. There is no color on this wood but the detail etched in it is remarkable. Along the center of the face is a spinal column that twists a little left, then right. Every vertebra is complete in its detail. Around the holes for the eyes there are grasping hands, as if they would close over what eyes might look through the holes. When held at the right angle, the fingers look like an old man’s wispy eyebrows. Where the mouth should be is a small snake that bites its own tail. It leaves the impression that the mask is surprised by something. There are several deep grooves along the cheeks on both sides. The grooves don’t blend well with the rest of the carvings on the mask. They leave a feeling of wrong when seen along side the spine, hands and snake. The inside of the mask is plain and dark. And when pressed against the skin of your face, cool to the touch. The effect of the mask is instant. A faint laughter is audible though from where is too hard to distinguish. Standing there infront of the mask is a small woman. Her hand is on her hip and her head is tilted slightly to the left. She is staring quite hard and does this without a word spoken. Without warning, the woman lunges out at the mask with clawed hands and opened mouth. A mouth opened so impossibly wide, her cheeks rip from lip to ear as she engulfs everything entirely. In the blackness of her maw, perversion and twisted reality assault endlessly.

“Yes officer that is correct.” said the train station attendant. “He was sitting by himself over there.” He pointed to some benches near the vending machines. “We get a lot of weird ones during the early hours of the morning. I didn’t take much notice of this guy talking to himself. It seemed a fairly innocent conversation. He wasn’t raving or anything like that.” The attendant’s story was interrupted by the shouting and struggling of the man who was waiting for his two-forty train to arrive and who had walked outside along the rails a short distance before going ballistic. He was strapped in a bloodied restraining jacket and had his legs manacled and was being half carried and half dragged by two burly looking fellows in white Joe Rocket Jackets smeared with his blood to a van with flashing yellow lights on the top. As the noise of the trio passed by the police officer and the attendant, the attendant resumed his story. “Like I said, he seemed normal enough. That is until he got over there…” he pointed towards the rails just beyond the platform in a shadowy area between two soft lights, “… Thats w

Cortech Pants – How To Impress Women With The Way You Dress

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Contrary to what many people say, good looking men have a much better chance of meeting and attracting beautiful women. So one of the most important thing you must do if you want to impress the girls is to make yourself look good and keep up to date with the latest fashion to improve on your appearance.
r
rDo you know that are very observant with your appearance. As a matter of fact, women are far more observant than men. It is just their natural instinct to be like that. They notice things that you and I may never even be aware of.
r
rDon’t believe me? Well, take your shoes you are wearing for example. Girls will almost always look at a man’s shoes and make a judgment of you. If you are wearing a pair of dirty old sports shoes, she will think, “Gosh, that guy does not even take care of himself, how can he take care of others then?”. That certainly is not being impressive to a woman.
r
rIn contrast, when was the last time you judged a woman based on what kind of shoes she was wearing? Let me make a guess, you probably did not even bother to look at her shoes, right? If you are like me and you probably are, you were far more focused on her legs than on her shoes, didn’t you? Gotcha!
r
rThe reason why women are impressed with men with good dress sense appearance is precisely because women are so observant. Therefore you need to dress nicely to impress her and be consistent with your fashion sense. That means that not only do you need to wear a decent pair of shoes, the rest of your dress sense needs to match your shoes.
r
rYou also need to be consistent to create an identity unique to you and therefore can’t wear a pair of expensive Italian dress shoes one day and a crappy pair of flip-flops the next day. Women will definitely notice your inconsistent appearance to your own detriment!
r
rThere are two basic components to fashion consistency. Firstly, you need to be consistent within a single outfit and secondly, you need to be consistent from day to day. To retain consistency within a single outfit, you need to have all the pieces of your outfit matching each other. I don’t just mean that the colors need to match, what I meant is that everything you are wearing needs to fit within the same “style”.
r
rTake for example, an inconsistent outfit might consist of a bright green T shirt, a pair of dark brown dress Cortech Pants and a pair of running shoes. Yucks! Isn’t that awful? The problem is men are committing this fashion dress sense mistake all the time and they don’t even know it! But Women do!
r
rOf equal importance, you need to dress consistently from one day to the next. This is especially important if you see and meet the same people day in and day out.
r
rI once had an email from a guy called Jep. Jep was certainly very dedicated to looking his Sunday best and even went shopping several times each month. He used to visit the most expensive male boutiques and bought tons of nice expensive clothes so as to impress women.
r

If it is a total mismatch with your dress sense today, then they will definitely take notice and immediately think, “that guy has no idea at all when it comes to fashion sense!” That is certainly not an impressive thought, don’t you think?
